We should have acted.
They're already here.
Commander Shepard warned us of their return.
Their defeats were merely a delay.
From the time after the Omega-4 Relay was opened.
And the sons of Cerberus would spill their own blood.
No one could believe.
Believe they could exist.
So when the truth finally dawns...
IT DAWNS IN FIRE!!
BUT!! There is one they fear.
In their tongue, he is Shepardkiin.
So yes, in case you could not tell by now, Mass Effect 3 came out today in the US, and I think in Canada too. Being the fanatic for this series that I have become (Blame Chelsie), when I heard about the Collector's Edition, I decided to preorder that for my ME3 experience. It's been a while since I bought a Collector's Edition or something big anyway so I figured that it was time for at least one splurge.
For right now, I have not played the game yet, but I will say that the content that comes with the Collector's Edition is very nice. The most prominent things in the edition is a comic and art book, with other content being online (Shepard's hoodie and some weapons and armor I'm getting since I bought mine at Gamestop). Is this content worth the extra money? Well, I'll let you know when it's installed.
I will say this though as a bit of a gripe... I am really sick and tired already of having to buy a physical copy of a game, only to need to register the code with an online service for download and install. Yes, that is how Mass Effect 3 is installed. I understand that Origin is EA's attempt at making the same sort of game-buying community site as Steam, but I don't appreciate needing an online service in order to install a game I bought a physical copy of. If that was the case, I would have just bought the game off of Origin. I literally spent two hours farting around trying to figure out why the game wasn't installing, much to my dismay.
Anywho, on to what pretty content came with the game!
This is the box the game comes in.
The front of the tin that holds the games.
And this of course is the back.
Looks rather nice, doesn't it?
This is the sleeve the rest of the physical content comes in.
Your official N7 stitch.
This is the short comic that comes with the game. It's pretty good, though I imagine this follows the story if you preserved the Collector Base instead of blowing it to Kingdom Come (Like I did).
This is the rather nice artbook that comes with the game. I was expecting maybe a bit more from the book, but for what it is the content is nice and the artwork is beautiful.
So, was this worth the money I dropped on it? I don't know as of yet, but I do like the packaging it came in. I'm just hoping that the installation for me does not become another Starcraft II.
